Ancona office
The Ancona Section aims to be the point of
reference point for people with multiple sclerosis and related diseases in the
provincial territory. The association firmly believes that people with MS
have the right to a good quality of life and full social integration.
For this reason, the Association is active in the territory, committed to spreading
correct information about the disease, raise public awareness,
promote and deliver adequate social and health services where public service
does not arrive, promote fundraising initiatives to support research
scientific research.
The AISM Provincial Section of Ancona has been active
in the territory since 1994. Within the Section, activities are carried out
for the promotion and funding of scientific research, for
the provision of services at the local level in favor of members with MS and related diseases
related diseases and, finally, for the representation and assertion of rights for
people with MS and their families, in order to ensure a good quality of
life and full social integration.
The main services that the Provincial Section
of Ancona provides are :
- Social Desk,
with free counseling activities for guidance on practices of
verification of civil disability and handicap status, driver's license, badging,
targeted employment. Tax benefits and contributions, right to study,
mobility, architectural barriers, facilities, work permits and services
social and health services in the territory; - Assisted transportation, based on
based on volunteer availability; - Medication pickup;
- Wellness activities
psychological called "Train the Mind," concerning the
cognitive stimulation; - Psychological support of
group, with formation of homogeneous groups structured by the
psychologist for moments of collective comparisons; - Psychological support
individual, structured in a maximum course of 6 interviews
individual/pair/family/domiciliary, which can be carried out
remotely or in-person and which allow the person with MS or family member an
initial support. - AFA-Adapted Physical Activity,
i.e., non-medical exercise programs conducted in groups. Instructors
of the wellness activities are competent individuals with degrees in exercise science
Exercise Science specializing in the clinical physiology of exercise and promotion
health in chronic degenerative diseases, including MS; - Recreational activities and
socialization; - Informational events.
