SECTION OF PISTOIA
Seat of Pistoia
The Provincial Section of Pistoia was born on February 10, 1996, thanks to the commitment of a group of people with Sm and their families.
The founders were driven by the desire to achieve the following objectives:
- To create an accessible place where the confrontation between people with the same pathology could take place.
- To receive adequate psychological support.
- To create personal support services.
- Fund scientific research.
Already in the second year of life, the Section in collaboration with the UISP, managed to organize the first major fundraising event, "BICI in Città ", which saw the participation of 500 citizens, eager to contribute to the cause of MS.
Over the years the Section has evolved a lot, in particular since 2010, people involved in multiple sclerosis, can count on a fully accessible office and a series of projects and activities carried out in total empowerment, such as:
- Rights Desk;
- Wellness activities;
- Support for personal autonomy;
- Support for mobility;
- Individual/couple/family/group psychological support;
- Accessible tourism projects;
- Structured reception activities at the Multiple Sclerosis Outpatient Clinic of the Valdibrana rehabilitation center.
