The “Endless” Swim for a World Free of Multiple Sclerosis!

The “Endless” Swim for a world free of multiple sclerosis! Marco Fratini, a doctor by profession and an ultra-swimmer by passion, is attempting an incredible new world record: swimming 170 km in less than 72 hours, without ever touching land or leaning on support boats, from September 3 to 6 at Lake Bracciano, starting and finishing at the pier in the beautiful town of Trevignano Romano. Marco will swim for nearly three days without stopping, except for brief “technical” breaks that will allow him to eat and rest through “micro-sleeps” induced by hypnosis. All of this must be done without leaning on any floating object, or the record will be invalidated.It will be essential to make the most of wind direction and underwater currents; for this reason, a triangular course has been set up with measuring buoys positioned at the piers of Bracciano, Anguillara, and Trevignano Romano. The feat will be certified by the Italian Timekeepers Federation.A fabulous feat for a great cause: please donate to support Marco’s charitable efforts! The funds raised for AISM Rome—speaking of distances to bridge—will go toward strengthening the project that provides mobility support via specially equipped vehicles for people with multiple sclerosis residing in the province of Rome to meet their healthcare needs (the “SMuoviamoci” Project). The initiative brings together numerous partners: Swimming Travel, the Municipality of Trevignano, the University of Foro Italico, the Bracciano Lake Consortium, and the H2O Sailing Club.
