Swim the Garda

"So far no one has ever swum the Garda coastline completing the entire circumnavigation without stopping, this is my challenge and the link with AISM gives me extra motivation. To succeed in this feat it is necessary to suffer, but I will do it for a limited period while those affected by multiple sclerosis did not choose it and every day they have to overcome challenges."With these words Marco Fratini describes the motivation that drives him to try to accomplish a sporting feat never attempted before: to swim the entire circumnavigation of Lake Garda without breaks, beyond those technical ones considered vital. It is about 147 kilometers in open water that he counts on being able to complete, stroke by stroke, in about 60 hours. Swim the Garda is a major sporting event taking place from September 8 to 10, 2023, and we will be with Marco every moment of this impressive record attempt: please also support Marco's feat and people with multiple sclerosis with a donation to AISM. Perugian doctor Marco Fratini will attempt this "impossible challenge" precisely to support AISM, and beyond a decidedly considerable distance, the courageous sportsman will swim in darkness for a full two nights. Considering then that Garda is first in Italy not only for its size but especially for its unpredictability, the goal seems decidedly arduous. However, Fratini has already pulled off some record-breaking swims, such as the 100-kilometer no-stop in short pool in 2020 achieved at the Pellini Pool in Perugia, but he has also been the protagonist of some solidarity events that led him to swim more than 40 consecutive hours in open water. Once again, the motivation for Marco Fratini to challenge his limits is to be able to raise funds for AISM, amplifying a message of awareness. Proceeds from sponsorships and parallel activities that will be carried out during the venture will be donated to the Association, as well as donations that will be encouraged throughout the communication of the event. The stages will average about 8 kilometers each and will touch a few points along the coast, more or less known, with initiatives and side events that will be unveiled in detail over the summer. It is already possible to follow the training and all the stages leading up to the long-awaited attempt to break this incredible record on Marco Fratini's social channels(Facebook and Instagram) and on the official website. We will be with Marco every moment of this impressive feat: please also support Marco's feat and people with multiple sclerosis with a donation to AISM.Donations will be equally donated to AISM Lombardy, Veneto and Trentino Sections.FOLLOW THE FEAT LIVE
