In memory of Veronica

Veronica was ill with multiple sclerosis from a young age, but never complained about her illness, never denied a smile, or her time for anyone. A hard worker and spirited girl, she faced all adversities with amazing courage, gentleness and vitality. Sadly, a few years ago Veronica left us, and since then her mother Catia has chosen, in memory of her daughter, to support the research activities of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. In the early years she helped fund one of Professor Diego Centonze's special projects and today she wanted to give continuity to this funding by continuing to support Prof. Centonze's research group. In particular, the funds raised will go to fund the Research Fellowship of researcher Francesca De Vito, entitled "Circulating microRNAs in cerebrospinal fluid as potential biomarkers of synaptopathy-mediated disease progression in multiple sclerosis." The project aims to further our knowledge of microRNAs to identify effective biomarkers of disease progression and, prospectively, for the prediction of treatment efficacy at the individual level. Thanks to your contribution, we can continue to make important strides in understanding the disease and identifying effective therapies, on the road that will one day finally lead us to the identification of a definitive cure for the disease.Donate now!
